July 15, 2016 Update Notes


01 JUL 16 WAS THE LAST CD UPDATE

Since ALL of our customers now use Internet transactions, we have discontinued
mailing of Updates on CDs.

After installing the 01 Jul 16 Update, the update configuration will
AUTOMATICALLY switch to 'Telecom'.

For customers using the 'new' 132x42 character screen format (aka 'client' or
'new stuff'), automatic pick up and install will be available.  Your system
can be configured to pick up updates and install for a specific day and time. 
Pick up and install can be configured to be different days/times.  Logging of
update pick up and installation will be done and any problems will be
displayed in the message window of the main menu.

SOFTWARE CHANGES INCLUDED IN THIS UPDATE:

1.  CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE REPORTING - PICK-UP BEFORE DISPENSED
The controlled substance reporting program now generates an exception if the
pick up date is (for whatever reason) prior to the dispensed date.

2.  CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE REPORTING - DEFAULT TO PICK-UP DATES
A NEW Software Option, 'Use Pickup Date for Ctrl Sub Log' has been added (page
9 - Pickup/Verify Fucntions).  Set this to 'Y' if you consistently use 'Pickup
Dates' for this report.

3.  AUTO REFILL - CHECK PATIENT'S LAST BILLED INSURANCE CODE
Auto refill may now be qualified by patient's last billed third party code.

4.  DOCTOR NOTES - MULTI-LINE
Similar to multi-line patient notes, multi-line doctor notes have been added
to the doctor amendments screen.  Press <ShF10> to access them.
ALSO, lines that begin with '*' will be DISPLAYED when processing a NEW
prescription to alert the operator of any significant note pertaining to the
selected prescriber.

5.  CALIFORNIA TAR NOTES - MULTI-LINE
Similar to multi-line patient notes, multi-line TAR notes have been added to
the TAR Track amendments screen.  Press <ShF10> to access them.

6.  SURESCRIPTS INCOMING MESSAGE ALERT
The new configuration option, 'Alert On Messages' can be set to 'Y' to send a
message to ALL logged in work stations when scripts to be filled/refilled
arrive.

7.  SURESCRIPTS - CANCEL BY DRUG NAME
The ability to cancel a Rx can be done by DRUG NAME by entering 'FD' in the
'Choose Rx to Cancel' field.

8.  ONLINE CLAIMS - TRANSMISSION OF COMPOUND SEGMENT
Now, if a multi-ingredient compound claim is transmitted, its NCPDP Compound
Segment will transmit UNLESS the new, 'Transmit Compound Segment' on the <F3>
Required Info (page 2) is set to 'N'.

This was done since MOST third parties can process this segment.  Previously,
a third party profile needed to be enabled to transmit this segment (by adding
'c' to the Miscellaneous Selections field.

9.  LOG OF SCRIPTS - ALLOW BOTH BIN & CODE IN LIST
Now, selection of dispensings by third parties may include both by BIN AND
individual codes.  Previously, selection was by either BIN OR CODE, not both.

10. ONLINE CLAIM RESPONSE - COMPARE TO MISCELLANEOUS PRICE
Previously, Software Options, 'Compare OnLine Pay to Acq Cost', could be
configured to give the operator a warning if the reimbursed amout was less
than acquisition cost ('Y') or a percentage difference of acquisition cost
('%').
In ADDITION to these two options, 'P' (for Price) has been added to give a
warning if the miscellaneous Price of a GENERIC drug is greater than the
reimbursed amount.

11. REFILL PROCESSING - REQUIRE RPH PASSWORD ON QUANTITY/DAYS SUPPLY CHANGE
New  Software Option, 'Req Ph Passwd on Qty/DS Change' when set to 'Y' will
prompt the operator when either default Quantity or Days Supply is changed for
Pharmacist's password approval.
