P.O.S SOFTWARE CHANGES

1. SECURITY LEVEL – PERIOD PROCESSING
In System Options – ‘Security Level Table:’ (Page 5), the new item:
‘Period Processing’
has been added. This item can be set whatever security level you want to
allow/inbit entry in to ‘3. Period Processing’.

2. NON-ITEMIZED SALES REPORT – ‘BUG’ FIX
This report had been adding non-taxable RX items to ALL non-taxable items.
This had the effect of doubling the amount of taxable items.

Now, non-taxable Rx items are offset from the non-taxable column to indicate
they are INCLUDED in all non-taxable sales and are no longer added to the
total.

PHARMACY SOFTWARE CHANGES

1. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE REPORTING – UTAH – PICKUP ID ISSUER – QUALIFIER

UTAH STATE has requested more detail regarding the ID of the person picking up
controlled substance prescriptions.
FSI currently prompts for the ID in two formats.
The first is a THREE field from:
Enter the Pickup ID [II][QQxxxxxxxxxxxxx ][qq] Qual
The second is a TWO field format:
Enter the Pickup ID [IIQQxxxxxxxxxxxxx ][qq] Qual

Where:
II – is the issuing authority. This is typically the two
character postal code for a state or province (Canada)
QQ – is the TYPE of the ID entered as the first TWO characters
of the ID. These are:
ML – military
DL – driver’s license
ID – state/province issued. NOT A DRIVERS LICENSE
PR or GR – permanent resident id (‘GREEN CARD’)
PP – passport. In this case, the issuer should be the
country code (US,MX,CN), NOT a state/province code
SS – social security number. Issuer should be set to ‘US’
TI or NA – tribal id (native american)
OT – other

IF the two numeric digit ‘Qual’ field is used for the TYPE, then ‘QQ’
does NOT need to be entered as the first two characters of the ID field.
qq – is the TYPE of of the ID. This is a numeric format that
has been supported for a few years:
01 – military
06 – driver’s license
02 – state/province issued. NOT A DRIVERS LICENSE
04 – permanent resident id (‘GREEN CARD’)
05 – passport. In this case, the issuer should be the
country code (US,MX,CN), NOT a state/province code
07 – social security number. Issuer should be set to ‘US’
08 – tribal id (native american)
99 – other

xxxxxxxxxxx – is the identification number

IF the last field, ‘[qq]’ is used, then ‘QQ’ does NOT need to be entered
in the ‘xxxxxxxxxxxxx’ field.

The following four examples will RESULT in the SAME data transmitted:
Enter the Pickup ID [WY][DL98712345876 ][ ] Qual
Enter the Pickup ID [WY][98712345876 ][06] Qual

2. DRUG MAINTENANCE: IMPRINT START DATE – MAINTENANCE INDICATOR
-IMPRINT START DATE
Rarely, manufacturers change the imprint (including color and shape) for their
product. This happened recently with a ferrous sulfate (NDC 64376080910)
which canged from red to green. A diligent pharmacy noted the new color,
green (effective 02 Mar 17) printing on the label, but they still had older
stock (red).

This is similar to a labeler having multiple manufacturers for a product
(which has been handled for years by selecting the ‘Imprint 2 Mfg Code on the
<F3> MediSpan screen of drug maintenance).

If this senario happens to you, THE SOLUTION is to choose the appropriate
‘Start Date’ on the <F3> MediSpan screen. If the new, ‘Start Date’ field is
<blank>, AND there are more than one imprint Start Dates, pressing the <Enter>
key will cause a list to display near the bottom-left of the screen. Choose
the date that corresponds to your stock.

This ‘Start Date’ will also be stored in each dispensing record so that when
new stock of a different imprint/color/shape is effective, reprinting the
script using the older stock (with different imprint) will print correctly (as
it was dispensed).

Modification to a DISPENSING’s ‘IMPRINT MFG DATE’ can be done in ‘Edit
Dispensing Record’, item ’11’.

-MAINTENANCE INDICATOR
We have added the ‘MediSpan Maint Dg’ indicator on the <F3> MediSpan screen
just below the ‘MedGuide Avail:’ line. FSI is planning to be able to print
this indicator on the label in the future.

3. LASER LABEL: PRINT eSCRIPT DOCTOR NOTE
Misc Item, ’26. DocPh NEWRX Note’ has been added.

4. LOG OF SCRIPTS: DUPLEX (2 sided) PRINTING
Set the new ‘Duplex’ field to ‘Y’ on the ‘Reports’ line (far right) in PRINTER
MAP MAINENANCE (Amend) to enable duplex (2 sided) printing for log of scripts.

OTHER DUPLEX REPORTS:
Patient List by Sel. Fields

Other reports have not yet been modified to recognize this option.

5. LOG OF SCRIPTS – REPORT BUILDER – ADD ‘QUANTITY OWING’
Script Item, ’47. Quantity Owing’ has been added to this report.

6. CENTRAL SYSTEM: PASSWORD REQUIREMENT CONFIGURATION
New items have been added to Pharmacist/Technician password requirements:
Password Minimum Length (1-12) <blank> = no minimum
Require Special Character (Y,N) !@#$%^&*()-_=+ are special characters
Require Numeric Character (Y,N)
Require Mixed Upper & Lower Case (Y,N)
Check X-num Passwd Hist. for Dups (1-10) <blank> = no duplicate checks

Regarding the ‘Check number of previous password history’, only a ‘hash’ of
previous passwords are stored.
