APP PERMISSIONS & USAGE
The app requires the following Android OS permissions:
- Wake Lock
- Read Phone State
- Access Network State
- Access WiFi State
- Access Fine Location
- Internet
- Access Background Location*
Wake Lock is used to keep the screen on while a signature is being captured.
Read Phone State allows the app to read the device’s randomly generated device ID. This device ID is only used to license the app with the FSI server and to identify this device during communication.
Access Network State and Access WiFi State are used by the app to know if the device is currently connected to a WiFi network or on a cellular data connection. This information never leaves the device.
Access Fine Location is required for the app to get the device’s current WiFi SSID. This information is strictly used to determine which Hostname, port, timeout, and connection method to use to communicate with the FSI server. The device’s current WiFi SSID and the pharmacy’s WiFi SSID never leave the app, is never transmitted to FSI or to your FSI server.
Internet permission allows the device to communicate with the FSI server.
Access Background Location is only required if the app is configured to communicate with the FSI server in the background. This permission allows the background service to access the device’s fine location. See the Access Fine Location information above for details on how we use this information.
