5.  CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE REPORTING – AUTOMATIC (SCHEDULED) – EXCEPTIONS NOT SENT

Now when there are exceptions encountered during an automatic (scheduled) transmission (missing DOB, address, etc.), the file will not be transmitted. In place of the file name on the report, “Not Sent – X Exceptions” will be displayed, where ‘X’ is the number of exceptions found.

6.  CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE REPORTING – AUTOMATIC (SCHEDULED) – MULTI-STATE

The Online Switch Code profiles for separate transmitting multiple states can be configured for transmitting a ‘Zero Report’ or not transmitting a ‘Zero Report’.

Go to Online Switch Maintenance (keystrokes from the main menu: 3-7-9-3-2-<code>).  States that require a ‘Zero Report’ should have the “Use Proc Ctrl#” set to “Z”.  If a state should be included in the multi-state list, but NOT REQUIRE a ‘Zero Report’, set this field to “A”.

7.  HIPAA SECURITY REPORT – ADD PATIENT NAME AND NVID TO OUTPUT FILE

“‘AUTHORIZED ACCESS’ REPORTS, “Output to File” function now adds the patient name and NVID (Non-Volatile IDentifier) to this report.

8.  NCPDP CLAIM REJECT DUR CODES – MULTIPLES ALLOWED FOR <F8> RETRY

Up to FOUR DUR code sets can now be entered prior to attempting a ‘Retry’ by pressing <F5> at the single set DUR prompt.

WARNING: Any LEVEL OF EFORT or CO-AGENT values entered on the first transmission attempt will NOT be TRANSMITTED.  This should normally not be a problem.  So very few claims require these items.
