Release Information:
15 July 2021 Delta (Release Date July 21, 2021)

** ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A VALID BACKUP BEFORE APPLYING AN UPDATE! **

FSI Software Management System:
Release Date July 21, 2021

** DATA CONVERSION INCLUDED **

** THIS UPDATE INCLUDES A DATA CONVERSION FROM THE -OBSOLETE- ALLERCHEK DATABASE TO THE ‘NEW’ PRIOR ADVERSE REACTION (PAR) DATABASE BY MEDISPAN **

** OBSOLETE CLINICAL DATABASE MIGRATION **

The following Medi-Span clinical databases are migrated to new:

AllerChek (allergies) is replaced by Drug Therapy Monitoring System (DTMS) Prior Adverse Reactions (PAR)

AllerChek items that did not convert to a corresponding PAR item are very likely due to the AllerChek item having an invalid code. Therefore, the AllerChek system would NEVER HAVE ALERTED the operator to an interaction even when this system was enabled.

** IF the AllerChek system was used to enter NOTES ONLY, without an allergy code, these notes are accessible from the patient menu with keystrokes: M-B.

The ‘new’ PAR system CANNOT be used to store notes only. IF NECESSARY, meaning there is a problem with the data conversion, AllerChek may be activated for a short time (until July 7, 2021. The actual inactivation date is about a month after that). In Software Options, Page 12, “Use AllerCheck/PAR System” will be set to “P” (activating ‘PAR’). Changing it back to “Y” will return to using AllerChek.

Even with the temporary change back to using AllerChek, the CONVERTED data will be accessible from the patient menu with keystrokes: M-P.

NOTABLE CHANGES TO P.A.R. RECORDS:

Each PAR record may have an onset date, script number, and ‘check box’ standard symptoms (skin rash/hives, shock/unconsciousness, asthma, nausea/vomit/diarrhea, anemia/blood disorders, and ‘other’). The allergen name may not be the same between AllerChek and P.A.R. For example, ASPIRIN was a ‘stand alone’ allergen with AllerChek but is mapped to salicylates with P.A.R.

UNUSED class codes CANNOT be re-defined as was possible with AllerChek. (This practice was highly discouraged, but was permitted because some knowledgeable customers could use this ‘feature’ prudently.)

CrossChek (drug interactions) is replaced by

      DTMS version2.2.

DTMS v1.0 (drug interactions) is replaced by

      DTMS version2.2.

The most notable change between these two versions is version 2.2 uses a full 11 digit NDC as a key whereas v1.0 used the first 9 digits of the NDC as a key. IF you have been using DTMS instead of CrosChek for the last many years, I doubt you will see any significant differences other than there may be more drug items supported.

1.  PROGRAMMABLE BOARD AND CARE FORMS: BUBBLE PACK PAGE QTYS; DATE AND NDC VARIANTS

Script Item, ‘6. Script Expiry Date’ will print date of MM/DD/YY with its variant set to ‘#’.

Drug Item, ‘4. NDC’ will print the NDC WITHOUT ‘-‘s between parts with its variant set to ‘-‘.

Misc Item, ’22. Administration Times (BubPk)’ will print the sum of an administration’s times quantity with its variant set to ‘Qx’ where ‘x’ is ‘1’ for administration time 1 (AM), ‘2’ for admin time 2 (MD or midday/noon), ‘3’ for admin time 3 (PM), and ‘4’ for admin time bedtime (HS). This item SPECIFICALLY applies to FSI’s BUBBLE PACK labeling program.

2.  TRANSFER SCRIPTS TO ANOTHER PHARMACY – ‘NOT FILLED’ & SINGLE DISPENSING ALLOWED FOR NEW YORK STATE

Script transfer now allows transferring a script without refills that are marked as ‘Not Filled’ (or otherwise on hold). For pharmacies in New York state, one or a partial number of refills can be transferred. In this scenario, the function does a special kind of decrease refill.

3.  LOG OF SCRIPTS – DOWNLOAD ADDED FOR FILES

Files generated by Log Of Scripts will now prompt the operator for Download.
